Bowenville State School is situated 27km East of Dalby and 60km West of Toowoomba in the heart of the Darling Downs. Our vibrant little school offers a wide variety of learning experiences for every child. Our school values of SAFE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE provide the foundation through which students are provided access to an optimal learning environment. We pride ourselves in our rich curriculum delivery with all students accessing all eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum from Prep to Grade 6. We have specialist teachers for Health and Physical Education and The Arts. We also access Japanese online through the Capricornia School of Distance Education. Staff are actively engaged in developing and maintaining their knowledge and skills in best-practise pedagogy with a current focus on targeted literacy improvement.
Students from Bowenville are very successful in the areas of sport and the arts with excellent achievement in regional sporting carnivals and eisteddfods. ICTs are an integral component of the teaching and learning cycle at Bowenville, with students each having access to their own allocated laptop in the classroom and furthermore digital whiteboards and online learning platforms. Bowenville State School has a strong partnership with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program, and have actively pursued this through school and community activities and the establishment of a dedicated School committee comprising of staff and parent volunteers. We as a small school community are strongly dedicated to providing a holistic school program underpinned by our motto of ‘No backward Step’. We work together in partnership to ensure all of our Bowenville students reach their potential.
